The story
The mission requires secrecy. Failure is not an option. Play as Ada Wong in this additional scenario and experience the events of Resident Evil 4 from her perspective, filling in unanswered questions posed in the main story. In addition to the action available in the base game with Leon, a grappling gun can be used to get to various locations, as well as take down enemies from a distance and launch a ranged melee attack. This allows for a more exciting and fast-paced gameplay experience.
What it’s like
Dim, sickly-lit European villages and crumbling castle corridors, all damp stone, rust, candle smoke and the flat blue-grey of a rural winter, with the frame often pulled tight over Ada's shoulder so enemies lurk at the edge of the picture. The sound design leans on creaking wood, distant bells, wet footsteps and sudden percussive stings, while the score swells in short, taut bursts rather than settling into melody. The mood is tense, lonely, and quietly stylish, a cool-headed spy thriller cut with survival dread. Pacing is brisk: stretches of tight, stealthy scrambling give way to fast bursts of combat, and the grappling hook turns traversal into a snappy, almost acrobatic rhythm. Ada is watchful and self-contained, and the game is more interested in her competence and secrets than in emotional confession. Violence is frequent and visceral, with bloody gunfire, stabbing and grisly enemy deaths, though gore is stylised rather than prolonged, and jump-scare moments are common. It suits an evening with the lights low and full attention, and fans of Resident Evil who want a leaner, faster take on its horror and a sharper, more mysterious heroine.
