The story

Saros is an action game developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Players control Arjun Devraj, a Soltari Enforcer investigating a lost off-world colony on Carcosa. The game features fast-paced third-person combat, boss encounters, and progression across repeated attempts.

What it’s like

Bright, particle-dense combat under bruised alien skies: glowing projectiles weave across the screen in wide third-person framing while energy shields flare in hard blue-white against rust-toned ruins and dark, cold stone. The sound is percussive, with sharp blasts and metallic impacts, and a pulsing synth-and-ambient score that swells when a boss arrives and drops to an eerie hush between fights. Pacing is kinetic and deliberately repetitive: short runs end, reset, and push a little further, each attempt sharpening reflexes and familiarity with hostile terrain. The vibe is tense, austere and gripping, with a lonely undercurrent of unease about memory and place rather than comfort. Combat is nonstop but stylised, with creatures and machines shredded in bursts of light, and dread lives in the atmosphere more than in gore. It suits focused evening sessions when you want adrenaline-tight play built around a single hard boss fight. For players who enjoy bullet-hell patterning, roguelite retries and sci-fi atmosphere, with an emotional thread about a man piecing together what he has lost.
