The story

After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters the Spider Society, a team of Spider-People charged with protecting the Multiverse's very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must set out on his own to save those he loves most.

What it’s like

Explosive, hand-drawn-looking animation that refuses to sit still: comic-book halftone dots, rough ink outlines, paint splatters and frames that stutter between styles, all awash in saturated neon pinks, cobalt blues and graffiti-bright yellows. Its New York is a layered collage of Brooklyn brownstones, rain-slick streets and blown-out city lights, while other dimensions arrive as painterly watercolour skies, sketchbook pages and glitching, Kirby-dot textures that feel like flipping through a graphic novel at speed. The score is a propulsive mix of synth pulses, hip-hop beats and orchestral swells that drops into near silence for the quieter, lonelier beats. Vibe: kinetic, colourful, bittersweet, with a teenage restlessness at its core. It suits a Friday night with the lights off, a comfort rewatch with friends, or anyone who wants visual invention pushed to its limit. Pacing is brisk and mostly relentless, with long, sweeping action sequences broken by quieter scenes of friendship and family strain. Its emotional register is earnest and warm, with a young hero learning that loyalty and independence can pull against each other. Intensity: moderate; cartoon peril, some superhero fistfights and a few tense, intense confrontations, with no gore and no sexual content. For fans of visual experimentation and sincere, big-hearted superhero stories.
