The story
Taz: Wanted is an action-adventure video game featuring the Tasmanian Devil, from the Looney Tunes. Blast your way through 15 different levels, destroying "Wanted" posters to get your revenge against Yosemite Sam. The game was nominated for 2002 BAFTA award in category 'Best Children's Entertainment'.
What it’s like
Bright, cartoonish saturation throughout: primary colours, bouncy character animation, and cel-style environments that shift between sun-baked desert mesas, cluttered Wild West towns and gaudy carnival-like backdrops. Camera sits behind Taz as he spins and bounds through each stage, so the view is usually wide and readable rather than cinematic. Sound leans on the classic Looney Tunes vocabulary of exaggerated sound effects, slapstick wallops and a jaunty, Western-flavoured score that loops comfortably in the background. The vibe is loud, playful and low-anxiety, the kind of mindless fun suited to a weekend afternoon or a short burst of play after school. Pacing is brisk, with short levels that reward poking around and smashing things. Violence is cartoon-style and bloodless: Taz whirls into enemies, knocks them flat and wrecks props, with no gore and no real menace, and the revenge plot against Yosemite Sam stays comic and light. Its relationships are simple rivalry played for laughs. Suited to younger players, families, and anyone wanting a gentle, goofy, nostalgic romp with no real stakes.
