The story

The second episode of the point-and-click adventure game The Walking Dead: Season Two. After gaining new friends (and enemies), Clementine has found her way into the lives of more survivors. Now, she fights for her life against an army of the dead with one wounded companion. How will she beat this new threat?

What it’s like

Muted, rain-washed Georgia countryside and dim, lamp-lit interiors, rendered in the painterly cel-shaded style of Telltale's comic-book adventures: heavy black outlines, flat warm palettes, and sudden flashes of red when violence breaks out. Long stretches are quiet, with slow walks through overgrown fields, creaking porches and cluttered rooms, punctuated by sparse piano and low strings that swell into tense, percussive pulses during chases. The point-and-click controls let you linger over dialogue and choices, and the pacing is deliberate: conversations drag on, then snap into frantic quick-time sequences. Zombie violence is frequent and sometimes graphic, with blunt impacts and blood spatter, but it is stylised rather than gratuitous, and there is no sexual content. Dread and grief sit heavier than gore. The emotional register is melancholy and tense, following a young girl who must decide who to trust while the people around her grow fragile. It suits a rainy evening with headphones, or a moody playthrough for players who want consequences, character drama and survival pressure rather than gentle comfort, and it is best for adults or older teens comfortable with frequent zombie carnage and bleak loss.
