The story

An epic story of family, vengeance and conspiracy set in the pristine, yet brutal, backdrop of a Renaissance Italy.

What it’s like

Sun-warmed Renaissance stone glows gold at dusk, and the city's rooftops stretch in long, sweeping vistas over terracotta tiles, church domes and crowded piazzas. Its palette runs on ochre, deep blue shadow and bright banners, and its soundtrack leans on swelling strings, low choral tones and tense percussion that rises when you are spotted and drops away when you slip back into the crowd. Movement is the pleasure: free-running across rooftops, leaping haystacks and gliding between towers gives it a rhythmic, almost meditative flow, punctuated by quieter stretches of wandering markets and countryside villages. The mood is melancholy and wistful, with a cool, conspiratorial edge that suits a late evening alone or a long unhurried session. Violence is frequent but stylised: swordfights, stealth kills and hangings, with some grim scenes of cruelty and torture, though the blood is modest and the tone rarely turns graphic. Best for players who want a story-rich, atmospheric adventure with a strong sense of place, and who are comfortable with sustained action and occasional brutality.
