The story

Fistful of Frags was born years ago as a Wild West themed modification for Source engine. It has been completely renewed for its Steam release, paying special attention to combat mechanics.

What it’s like

Dusty, sun-bleached frontier maps built on the Source engine, with sepia-warm daylight over sandstone towns, saloon interiors lit by lamp glow, and wooden boardwalks and cacti that give every round a hot, parched look. Its soundtrack leans on twangy western strings and the crack of revolvers, with gunfire that feels punchy and deliberate. Matches move at a quick, tense clip: players sprint, dive behind crates, and trade shots in short, bright bursts, so the mood is scrappy and kinetic rather than brooding. The shootouts are cartoonish in their colour and over-the-top in their bloodless carnage, so violence is frequent but gore-free and comic, and the stakes never feel cruel. It suits an evening of co-op or team play with friends, a stretch of rapid-fire rounds on a laptop, or a casual session when you want to blow off steam with a Wild West flavour. It is for players who enjoy hands-on combat mechanics, quick rounds, and a lighthearted cowboy setting on PC, Mac, or Linux.
