The story

With new story details, learn the tale of hunters who once made Yharnam their hunting grounds, meet new NPCs, and discover another side of the history and world of Bloodborne. Includes: The Original Bloodborne Experience / Bloodborne: The Old Hunters Expansion / Bloodborne: The Old Hunters

What it’s like

Gothic dread drenched in candle-smoke amber and moonlit blue: the streets of Yharnam sit under a low, bruised sky, with fog rolling over cobblestones, lanterns guttering in the wind, and cathedral spires silhouetted against a sickly moon. Its camera stays close over the shoulder, the frame often crowded with ornate stonework, gore-streaked coats and grotesque, elongated bodies, while the score is sparse: a distant choir, wind moaning through bells, then sudden percussive stings that make a fight feel like a held breath. The mood is melancholic and feverish, a slow-burn unease that tips into sharp, frantic combat whenever you hit a beast. Pacing is deliberate and punishing, with long stretches of exploration broken by brutal, often lethal encounters; the violence is frequent and bloody, with visceral gore and body horror, though the horror lands more through atmosphere and dread than jump scares. Sexual content is absent. Its hunter protagonists are driven, weary figures who slowly unravel as the city's rot reveals itself. Best suited to players who want a moody, demanding dark-fantasy world to master over many late nights, and who don't mind dying often.
