The story

Destiny: The Taken King - Legendary Edition is perfect for new and existing Guardians that are ready to jump into the Destiny universe or continue to carve their legend in the stars. The Legendary Edition features the complete Destiny experience including The Taken King, the next evolution in the Destiny universe, Destiny, Expansion I: The Dark Below and Expansion II: House of Wolves. Unite with 20 million Guardians in the fight to defeat Earth's enemies, reclaim all that we have lost, and Become Legend.

What it’s like

Sweeping sci-fi vistas in the Destiny style: sun-bleached ruins under hazy orange skies, dusty Martian plains, and the cold blue glow of the Traveler's light against deep space. Muzzle flashes and energy bursts punctuate gleaming armour and ornate alien architecture, while the score swells with orchestral brass and choral pads during big set pieces and drops to hushed ambient drones between fights. The feel is expansive and communal, with a steady, pleasurable rhythm of exploring open zones, clearing waves of enemies and chasing loot, and the mood is earnest, heroic and a little wistful, with the grim rebuilding of a shattered humanity giving the wide spaces a lonely edge. Gunfights are frequent and loud, with stylised, bloodless combat rather than gore, and the sci-fi conflict carries a constant low hum of threat without much graphic cruelty. It suits long evening sessions, solo or with friends dropping in, and background-friendly stretches of wandering. It is for players who enjoy progression grinds, sprawling worlds to roam, and the satisfaction of gunplay with a sense of cosmic scale.
