The story

A new episodic adventure set in the badlands of Pandora. This collaborative brain child, is set after the events of Borderlands 2 and is a part of the franchise' official lore.

What it’s like

Bold cel-shaded comic-book frames with thick ink outlines, sun-bleached dust-orange badlands, and hot pink and teal neon bleeding into grimy interiors, all rendered with the loud, scrappy energy of the Borderlands series. The sound is brash and jokey: gritty guitar-driven rock and synth stings underscore wisecracks, sudden gunfire, and sci-fi hum. Its vibe is wry, scrappy and warm-hearted, a late-night binge with friends or a playful weekend session with a controller in hand. Play moves at a clip, with point-and-click exploration, quick-time choices, and short bursts of cartoonish shootouts that give way to long talky scenes where the cast bickers and bonds. Violence is frequent but stylised and bloodless, more slapstick than grim, with profanity and crude humour throughout and no real horror. The emotional register swings between rowdy comedy and quiet, sentimental moments about loyalty and found family. It suits fans of the wider franchise and anyone who wants a chatty, irreverent sci-fi romp with a big heart and a light touch of danger.
