The story

Set before the events of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, join a cast of new and familiar characters in this original story scenario that connects the three numbered installments in the Xenoblade Chronicles series. Future Redeemed also features new battle mechanics, such as Unity Combo, where two characters can attack in unison.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated open fields and luminous skies give way to ruined cityscapes and cloud-wreathed ridgelines, rendered in the painterly, hand-tuned style Monolith Soft is known for, with sweeping vistas that reward slow wandering. The score swells with orchestral strings and choral warmth during exploration and tightens into driving, percussive rhythm when battles erupt, so the soundtrack shifts the mood the way a long walk through changing terrain does. Combat is fast and readable, with big mech-scale moments and the satisfying crunch of a well-timed Unity Combo. The vibe is earnest and wistful, a sci-fi fantasy comfort with a sense of adventure that never quite tips into despair. It suits long evening sessions, a weekend of uninterrupted exploring, or a relaxed run through side quests. Intensity is moderate: frequent combat with stylised, non-gory violence, some tense peril and emotional farewells, but nothing graphic or cruel. Its pace is unhurried, with its heart in companionship: a group of allies, old and new, slowly learning to trust one another across a richly layered world. It is for players who want a generous, character-driven RPG with a warm core and a sense of wonder.
